Printing Guidelines

Important: Please examine closely any and all proofs that we give you. By signing-off these proofs, you are accepting any and all responsibility for the content and character of said design. You are also instructing us to proceed with production of the display as it stands. Always check your proof very carefully for content, spelling size, and layout, pay particular attention to names, telephone numbers, web site addresses, etc., check to ensure that all elements (type, logos, fonts, etc.) have been specified using the correct colors and have been positioned accurately. Do not hesitate to call us (808-681-4444) for clarification if there is anything that you may not understand. NEVER approve anything that you are not completely happy with or do not understand –once you have signed the proof, told us to go ahead, or even applied any of these actions, you have taken full responsibility for the content! Materials We Print

At Oahu Signs and Screen Printing we use only the finest quality materials obtained from sources throughout the world. This insures unsurpassed durability and craftsmanship.

Here’s just a little about just some of the most common materials that we print on:

Aluminum
Often best suited for outdoor use due to the long term durability. Aluminum is used for Real Estate Signs, Traffic Signs, Security Signs, Notice Signs, and much more.

Banner Vinyl
Banners have an uncanny knack for attracting attention! They are very economical, durable, and of course portable. Available in many thicknesses, and with or without “scrim” for additional support-Banners are the perfect temporary sign. (Up to nine years outdoors).

Calendared Rigid Vinyl
A rigid film product with a uniform surface texture that provides an excellent finish for printing. At Oahu Signs and Screen Printing we will either screen print, or use a special “flat bed” printer for POP signage, ID cards, Tags, and even Labels.

Cardstock, Board stock, Poster Board
Ideal for indoor use, Oahu Signs and Screen Printing has a large selection of sizes, colors, and weights to choose from. Not usually intended for outdoor use, but we can laminate any of these products for longevity indoors.

Coroplast or Corex Both are ideal for either indoor or outdoor use. A lightweight corrugated plastic; these materials are very economical making them ideal for short term outdoor applications. Oahu Signs and Screen Printing has a large selection of sizes, colors, and weights to choose from.

Lexan An excellent candidate for many interior sign uses. This product has high impact strength and has an inherent "water-clear" transparency. Consistent Purity, Flame Resistant Proprietary’s, Extremely Durable, Nearly Unlimited Colors, Highly Heat Resistance, and even has Dimensional Stability at elevated temperatures.

Magnetic Vinyl Used primarily on vehicles but will adhere to any steel surface. When laminated can very effective as an outdoor material. Can be screen printed directly, or digitally printed on. Oahu Signs and Screen Printing has a large selection of sizes, colors, and weights to choose from.

Pressure Sensitive Vinyl Can be screen printed or digitally printed. Can be die cut and/or “kiss-cut”. Various strength adhesives are available. Offers a variety of uses-decals, stickers, labels, and many more.

Sintra Expanded PVC- An extremely durable indoor/outdoor plastic.
Available in various thicknesses and colors. Can be die cut - no bleed edges. Can be laminated. Fire resistant. Good outdoor weatherability.

Static Cling Vinyl Adheres best to glass, inside or outside, is totally removable, has no adhesive, transferable. Excellent for promotions! Oahu Signs and Screen Printing has a large selection of sizes, colors, and weights to choose from.

Styrene A cost effective indoor plastic. Most commonly used for indoor POP signage. Available in various thicknesses. Can be die cut. Translucent or opaque. High impact. Not recommended for outdoor use.
